Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday moved the political resolution on the second day of the BJP national executive meeting held at Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi.
According to sources, the resolution praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision 2022. The resolution also talked about 'New India' and a poverty-free India where no one will be shelterless. The Home Minister also said that the nation will be free of terrorism, casteism and communalism by 2022.
The meeting which was attended by BJP veterans including Murli Manohar Joshi and LK Advani is in its second day. On Saturday, speaking to his party members, BJP President Amit Shah had said that the party will get 'absolute majority' in the 2019 assembly elections.
During the meeting, the national office bearers of the BJP discussed the party's preparations ahead of elections in four states and the Lok Sabha elections slated for next year.
Speaking to the leaders, Shah had called the opposition as "disruptionists" and that the grand alliance being formed was nothing but an "eyewash". He also accused the Congress of indulging in breaking the nation and asked his party cadres to highlight the achievements of the BJP government in the last four years to counter the narrative being built by the opposition.
The party members have adopted the slogan "Ajey BJP" in remembrance of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This is also the party's first national executive meet without the late leader. On day two of the meeting, party leaders are going to focus on the increasing fuel prices as the agenda, according to sources.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday said that the opposition has no agenda or policy or strategy and that it only believed in 'Modi roko abhiyan'. He said that the party will win with an even bigger majority in 2019 elections.
To conclude the two-day meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a valedictory speech on Sunday.
