"Leela" has Parvathy Nambiar in the titular role. The movie, based on a short story written by Unni R, narrates the strange relationship of Kuttyappan and an orphaned girl Leela. The promo song of the movie, "Vattolam Vaniyare," sung by Biju has gone viral on social media after it was released April 3 on the YouTube channel of the movie.
Vijaya Raghavan, Indrans, Jagadhish, Suresh Krishna, Sudheer Karamana, Muthu Mani and Priyanka Nair also play pivotal roles in the film, which is being produced under the banner of Capitol Theatre by Ranjith.
The film courted controversy at the beginning of the year, when the team of "Leela" carried on with the film's shooting, ignoring the strike of work called by the producers' association. The issue has not been resolved yet, leading to uncertainty over the movie's theatrical release.
Meanwhile, Biju, who is currently busy with the shooting of VK Prakash's "Marubhoomiyile Aana" in Thrissur, also has in his kitty the Liju Thomas-directed "Kavi Uddheshichathu..?" with Asif Ali and Narain, and "Vellimoonga" director Jibu Jacob's untitled Mohanlal-starrer.
