The five-phase Bihar Assembly elections 2015 began on 12 October. The polling concludes on 5 November, while the counting of votes will be done on 8 November.
The first phase of the Bihar polls recorded 57% voter turnout from 1.35 crore voters in 49 constituencies.
In the second phase, which will take place on 16 October, polling will be held for 32 seats in south-western Bihar out of a total of 243 constituencies.

Party-wise candidates
Despite little influence in Bihar, the highest number of candidates in the second phase has been fielded by Bahujan Samaj Party, which is contesting from 32 seats.
Next comes the Bharatiya Janata Party with 16 seats, followed by the Janata Dal United, the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Communist Party of India with 13 each. Others in the fray include the Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party and the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party with six seats each.
Bihar polls 2010 outcome
The JDU had won the largest number of seats in the 2010 election among the seats going to polls in the second phase. The ruling party won 18 of the 32 seats, followed by the BJP (9), RJD (2).
