The latest season of Bigg Boss OTT 3 has been one of the most unrelatable and boring seasons ever. Despite bringing controversial names, the show failed to generate enough buzz. Now that the finale of Bigg Boss OTT 3 is done; let's take a look at why makers should drop the idea of BB OTT altogether.
Salman Khan's absence: Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Amitabh Bachchan or Anil Kapoor; no celeb can manage to host the Weekend Ka Vaar like Salman Khan does. Over the years, Salman's name has become synonymous with BB and rightly so! From wisely making the contestants understand their faults to even giving them an earful where necessary, Salman lends his heart and sole to the show. Not to miss his dad-humour that tickles everyone's funny bones.
Social media following: Unlike Bigg Boss, Bigg Boss OTT mainly has celebs who rule on social media and OTT apps. And with the last few seasons we have seen how the celebs with the maximum social media number and fan following become the obvious winners. And with such huge social media following, these celebs refuse to open up or be vulnerable knowing that even if they don't give the show their all; they would most probably win or reach the top 5. Their social media game takes precedence over their true personality and contribution in the show.
Less relevance: One of the reasons behind Bigg Boss becoming a household show was the fact that we could see the celebs we have grown up watching up, close and personal. It was entertaining to see them react without any guards, cameras, living their life without the outside glare. It was intriguing to get a good luck at the true personality of the celebs we have adored or hated. However, with the wave of social media influencers, there is hardly any relevance for people except for the gen z.
Too much of Bigg Boss: Bigg Boss starts soon after Bigg Boss OTT and there is hardly any waiting period for the new season to begin which results in lesser viewership and interest. While Bigg Boss OTT 2 fared well, Bigg Boss 17 which came soon after that was trailing on the TRP meter.
