One of 1990s' popular cult shows "Hip Hip Hurray" is all set to return to the small screens with a new season. Zee TV, which used to air the show earlier, has decided to recreate the same magic on television with new faces.
According to a report in The Times of India, the new season will deal with issues like parent-child relationship, teenage love, sexuality and more. The makers have already roped in one of its lead actors Anshuman Malhotra, who played the role of young Shahid Kapoor in "Haider", for an important role in the show.
"It's a coming-of-age story, which will tackle issues pertaining to teenage love, sexuality, peer pressure and parent-child relationship. Anshuman Malhotra, who played the young Shahid Kapoor in the film Haider, will be seen in a pivotal role," a source told the daily.
"Hip Hip Hurray" revolved around 12 grade students who dealt with relationships, exam stress, friendship, drug abuse and more.
Starring TV actress Shveta Salve, "Bigg Boss 9" contestant Kishwer Merchantt, "Kumkum Bhagya" actor Shabbir Ahluwalia, "Rock On" actor Purab Kohli, the youth-centric series turned out to become a trendsetter.
The show also had popular TV actors like Vinay Pathak and Suchitra Pillai in important roles.
