While "Bigg Boss 8" is becoming more controversial and entertaining every passing day, the makers have recently decided to extend the show by yet another month.
Although the news has brought a smile on many faces, the fact that host Salman Khan will be replaced by director Farah Khan for the extended weeks, has not gone down well among the viewers.
Confirming his exit from the show, Salman had recently stated that he won't be hosting the show from 4 January due to prior commitments.
The superstar, who has been hosting the show for four consecutive seasons, has become the viewers' favourite. Many watch the show only for Salman, who brings his special charm to the show.
But, with Farah on board, it appears like the show may not receive a similar response and might hit its lowest TRPs during the extended period.
Here are some of the points that make Salman a prefect host:
Salman's Popularity: Salman has a huge fan following and with his popularity, the actor has managed to bring his films' magic on the small screen and made the reality show one of the most watched television shows in India. According to a previous report, the channel earns a whopping ₹200-400 crores every year from "Bigg Boss". The same was not the case when Arshad Warsi hosted the show back in 2006, followed by Shilpa Shetty in 2008, Amitabh Bachchan (2009) and Sanjay Dutt (2011).
Salman's Controversies: For the past four seasons, the actor has been engaging in controversies and fights involving the contestants, which in turn makes the show entertaining. During "Bigg Boss 7", Khan was accused of being biased towards actress Tanisha Mukherji, sister-in-law of Khan's friend Ajay Devgn. He was also accused of targeting Kushal Tandon and Gauhar Khan.
Salman's Antics: There is no one like Salman who can mock the contestants with his special style. The "Kick" star's antics have managed to bring the highest TRPs to Colors for the period when the show is aired.
Salman's 'Being Human' nature: Salman is loved by many mostly because of his generous nature. His contribution to the society though his foundation "Being Human", has undoubtedly made him one of the most loved bollywood stars.
