In a shocking turn of events, "Happy New Year" is reportedly set to replace Salman Khan as "Bigg Boss 8" host from 4 January 2015 onwards.
According to DNA report, since Salman's contract is to end on the said date, after which he will not be able to accommodate further days for the high-voltage reality show due to his packed schedule, Farah has been roped in by the makers.
It has also been reported that Anil Kapoor and Karan Johar was earlier approached for the job, but both the celebrities had turned down the offer. This startling piece of news comes after it was widely published that a month-long extension has piqued the creators' interest and they have been conducting meetings regarding the same.
"The production team had a meeting with the contestants for almost an hour and discussed the idea of extending the show for a month. Most of the contestants inside the house have agreed for it," DNA quoted a source as saying.
Contestants Diandra Soares and Gautam Gulati's bathroom escapades, Ali Quli MIrza and Sonali Raut's slapgate, has garnered enough attention from the viewers and according to reports, the TRP ratings are looking good for the show. And, it is this growth that the makers reportedly wish to continue with the extension.
Salman, who has been hosting the show for three consecutive years, will not only quit "BB8", but has reportedly refused to host forthcoming seasons as well. "He has made his decision very clear. In fact, the channel has already started looking out for celebrities to host the next season of the show," Bollywood Life quoted the source as saying.
The superstar, after engaging in a war of words with "Bigg Boss 7" contestants Kushal Tandon, Gauahar Khan, said on national television that it would be his last season as a host. But after much confusion, the witty actor returned to entertain his fans.
