Evicted "Bigg Boss 8" contestant Sonali Raut might have been an object of scorn for the housemates, but the viewers appreciated her for being so free-spirited.
Even after staying miles away from plotting and strategising against fellow contestants, "The Xpose" fame actress' stint hasn't been anything short of a tumultuous one. From being labeled 'lazy' to accused of throwing herself onto the boys for surviving the show, this inmate took everything in her stride.
"There was nothing between Upen and me. And it was just a friendship with Gautam that didn't go further. Had it been something more, they would have shown it on television," Rediff quoted her as saying.
Her love-hate relationship with Gautam Gulati became the talk of the town but she was soon seen switching over to Upen Patel. The "36 China Town" actor had quickly developed an interest in her but it fizzled out sooner than the viewers thought it would.
Upen, has, several times mentioned how she is trying to get close to him only for the sake of the show adding that her affectionate gestures are nothing but a desperate attempt to look for a love angle, which will help her fight the cut-throat competition in the house.
The girls too tagged her as 'pendulum' and were seen discussing how she switches between Upen and Gautam. However whenever Sonali learnt of this piece of gossip, she laughed it off saying they were just good friends.
Interestingly, a few weeks ago during the 'lie detector' task it was asked if she used Gautam and Upen for her benefit. The mode-turned-actress quickly responded with a 'yes'. Obviously, the answer didn't shock the housemates one bit as they were aware of what was crossing through her mind.
The surprise eviction on Saturday did shake things up a little bit but Sonali believes she is out of the house just in time. "It would have been intolerable to live in the house longer since Salman (Khan) has left the show. It's just not the same for me any more," she said.
