"Bigg Boss 8" contestant Upen Patel will soon be seen on silver screen after a gap of almost six years.
The model-turned-actor was last seen on the big screen in 2009 with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" and after six years, he will be making his comeback with Vikram-Amy Jackson starrer Tamil film "I".
Upen, who is entertaining audience, in reality show, "Bigg Boss 8", will reportedly be seen in a negative role in Shankar's directorial film "I".
In the trailer, released on 18 December, Upen is seeing sharing screen space with Vikram and Amy Jackson. Furthermore, a song has been picturised on the "Bigg Boss 8" contestant and Amy.
"The number picturised on Amy and Upen forms an important part of the screenplay since it leads to a major twist. In typical Shankar style, it was picturised in a grand way," a source close to the film told BollywoodLife.com.
Vikram's "I" is one of the most awaited Tamil films and all-around buzz is very strong. The response is so huge that the trailer has gone viral on social media. With 36 hours, the trailer garnered 1.7 million views.
Meanwhile, last year the actor in an interview revealed how he managed to get the role in Shankar's "I". He told The Times of India that Shankar was keen to cast him in the movie.
"I feel so privileged that I'll be making my Tamil film debut under Shankar's direction. It all happened when my manager received a call that the director had a project in mind, and was keen to cast me in it," Upen told TOI.
"I was on from the minute I heard that it was his project. Later, when I was briefed about my role, it blew me away. I am not allowed to talk about my role or anything related to the film, but all I can say it's an incredibly good role," he added.
