In a shocking turn of events, Champions – Karishma Tanna, Dimpy Mahajan, Ali Quli Mirza, Pritam Singh adnd Mahek Chahal – united to save Gautam Gulati, whom they had pushed to the newcomers' team because of his inability to work as a team.
According to a Colors report, both Karishma and Ali were of the opinion that since the "Diya Aur Baati Hum" actor had survived 17 weeks in the house it would be unfair to nominate him for elimination this week.
This development comes as big surprise given the hard feelings the Champions harbour against him for not being a team player. A few days after Salman Khan announced Gautam as numero uno among the Champions on "Finale ka Twist", Ali and Pritam were heard discussing how success has got the best of him.
So, are the Champions sticking to him because of his popularity or was the move genuine? Well, while that remains to be seen, the decision taken was indeed a sensible one.
In other news, Gautam was spotted interacting with Sambhavna Seth, Mahek Chahal, and Rahul Mahajan the whole of last week. Even Dimpy expressed her disappointment over how he left the living area to sleep with the Challengers.
However, Farah Khan questioned their decision to name Gautam as the least deserving Champion adding that he had won the living area task for them. In their defense, Pritam and Karishma said that he failed to stick to the team isolating himself in the process. A caller, who readily agreed to their opinions, said he should be more available for his team warning him against Sambhavna.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that he felt he was being cornered. Things turned sour for the suave contestant when he hurled abuses at Karishma Tanna for smearing red chili paste on his face. Reprimanded for displaying an inappropriate behaviour, housemates refused to accept his apologies until host Salman Khan said the issue was being dragged unnecessarily.
