Reality show Bigg Boss 7 has gotten uglier with police asking the channel for the video footage of Armaan Kohli assaulting evicted contestant Sofia Hayat.
Sofia had recently complained against Armaan for physical assault and defamation. Acting on the Brit's complaint, Lonavala police have now sought the unedited video of Armaan's violent act.
Police inspector Vishnu Pawar said that Sofia had lodged a complaint against Armaan Kohli under Sections 24, 509, 506, 504 of the Indian Penal Code, reported The Indian Express.
"Both Kohli and Hayat were participants in Bigg Boss Saath 7 reality show. We have not arrested Kohli yet because we are verifying the complaint first. For that we have contacted the Big Boss management to handover is unedited video footages on their set. We are yet to received the video footages," Pawar said.
Sofia, the Pakistani-British origin singer had expressed her disapproval on Armaan being let off lightly, despite hitting her with a broom stick in the reality show Bigg Boss 7. She was recorded saying that her co-contestant's repeated aggressive behaviour and name calling was an insult and defamation to her image.
Sofia had even targeted the show's host Salman Khan as she hinted that Armaan was being protected from elimination in the show due to his close association with the superstar.
Meanwhile, reacting to Sofia complaint, film producer and Armaan's father Raj Kumar Kohli had stated that legal actions would be taken against Sofia for maligning Armaan's image.
"Sofia has been saying that she has filed a complaint on the advice of Gauhar Khan as well as Kushal Tandon for the incident which happened in the 'Bigg Boss' house and was watched by millions of viewers," he told the Times of India.
"These comments made by Sofia are causing irreparable damage. To put an end to Sofia Hayat's publicity gaining tactics, we have got in touch with our legal team and are in the process of filing a defamation suit against her."
