While "Bigg Boss 9" has come to its end, the grand finale being on 23 January, makers of the show have come up with an interesting idea for the upcoming season -- "Bigg Boss 10". Unlike all the previous seasons of the controversial show, "Bigg Boss 10" will have some contestants from among the common people, irrespective of their socio-economic background.
Colors channel CEO Raj Nayak made the announcement, revealing details about how commoners can participate in a contest and eventually be part of "Bigg Boss 10" as contestants. "As we take on this interesting content innovation, we look forward to receiving some interesting entries from our increasing viewer base. We will be scouting for some great contestants in the months to come. You could be a doctor, engineer, lawyer, teacher, preacher, banker, entrepreneur, home-maker, taxi-driver, coolie, from any domain, any socio-economic background, have any calibre, if you think you are an entertainer, then this is the break that you have been looking for," India Today quoted Raj Nayak as saying.
The report also said that interested participants can upload a three-minute video on www.colorstv.com/biggbossentry, showcasing some of their special traits, which will make them eligible to enter "Bigg Boss 10" as contestants. Participants can send their videos from 23 January to 31 May, following which some candidates will be shortlisted and eventually called for auditions, the report added. In the meantime, makers of the show will work on selecting the other celebrity contestants.
"Every year we receive thousands of emails, SMS texts, etc. enquiring about ways to enter the show. Finally, the day has arrived. Hope the fans and avid viewers make full use of this opening," the Colors CEO added.
