The preparation for the first season of Kamal Haasan's Bigg Boss Tamil is happening at very brisk pace. A huge set is being erected at EVM Theme Park in Chennai with over 100 people working round the clock to ensure that it is completed on time.
Sources say Bigg Boss Tamil will start airing from June 18. The show will be aired between 9 and 10 pm on Vijay TV, and the weekend special shows will be kick-started by Kamal Haasan at 8.30 pm.
The under-construction house is said to be bigger than the one used for the Hindi version in Lonavala. All the lavish amenities will be provided for the contestants, but sans newspapers and new-age devices, including mobile and laptops.
It means that the contestants will have to survive in the house completely disconnected from the outside world for 100 days. The format has been successful in Hindi and Kannada, which are hosted by Salman Khan and Sudeep, respectively.
15 Contestants
The channel is looking for the best candidates for the show, and many well-known faces have been approached. Two cricketers are reportedly part of the game along with two politicians.
"When Bigg Boss approached me to play the host, I funnily quipped, who better than me, right? All my life, I have been under a constant watch and have been judged on whatever I have done, public or private. But now, the roles are reversed, as I would stand with the audiences and watch these celebrities in the house survive this ordeal," Kamal Haasan said in a press release.
