"The Big Bang Theory" has returned to its usual slot on Thursdays, due to the end of Thursday night football.
The seventh episode of the season will be aired this Thursday, and fans will finally learn the truth about the ring Sheldon was seen holding in the season 8 finale of the comedy.
A leaked description of the episode says Sheldon was about to propose to his girlfriend of five years before she decided to take a break from the relationship, and eventually call it quits. Amy took the drastic step believing her relationship with Sheldon wasn't moving forward, and despite being together for five years Sheldon wasn't ready to take the relationship to the next level.
None of Sheldon's friends knew about his decision to pop the question to Amy, but that will change when Wil Wheaton and Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy, appear in "The Spock Resonance" to interview Sheldon for a documentary.
"While being interviewed for a documentary about Spock from Star Trek, Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent break-up with Amy," CBS stated.
Reportedly, Leonard and Penny, watching the filming from Sheldon's apartment kitchen, learn about his intentions and influence Sheldon to finally admit that he still has feelings for Amy.
But it looks like Amy has moved on. When Sheldon rushes to Amy's apartment to find out if he still has a chance with her, he sees her kissing someone goodnight, and this leaves him heartbroken.
