"The Big Bang Theory" actress Melissa Rauch's sex scene in the new movie, "The Bronze", has left her fans shocked. It has been called the "raunchiest sex scene in the movie history".
Rauch plays Hope Annabelle Greggory in the film. She is an acerbic Olympic bronze medallist gymnast who can't let go of her fame. She gets a chance to train a young girl gymnast; but instead of helping her, she does everything in her power to sabotage her career. Greggory later indulges in sex with her rival Olympic recruiter, Lance Tucker - played by Sebastian Stan. They use various props including pole vaults, cartwheels and pirouettes while making out.
The film has been co-written by Rauch and her husband Winston Rauch and the former was reportedly quite comfortable while doing the steamy scene. "As far as the sex scene, you write what you know," said the actress in the Q&A session at the Sundance Film Festival, reported Indie Wire.
"We just wanted to show people what goes on in our bedroom and we didn't know there was anything special or unusual about it," added Winston.
Melissa also revealed that body doubles were used for some of the shots. "She's a wonderful girl and so talented, and very free with her body," the actress said of her stand in, further reported the Website. Meanwhile, Stan said that he felt "very safe" while performing the scene and was really happy to be able to accomplish it.
"The Bronze" is scheduled to be released this year. The film also stars Gary Cole, Thomas Middleditch, Cecily Strong, Haley Lu Richardson and Dale Raoul. The principal photography took place in July 2014 in Amherst, Ohio. Some of the scenes involving professional athletes were shot in Cleveland. Stephanie Langhoff has produced the film and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will distribute it.
