Indian film industry's most cherished stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, will bring their famed Bollywood style to Madame Tussauds Washington DC this December.
There has been an increase in the number of wax statues of Indian superstars at the Madame Tussauds museum due to the increasing popularity of the Hindi film industry and Bollywood stars across the world,.
According to reports, wax figures of all the five superstars were uncovered at the Tussauds museum in Washington DC on Tuesday as part of a travelling Bollywood exhibit.
"These were the five popular Bollywood figures that people wanted to see," Dan Rogoski, General Manager of the Madame Tussauds Museum in Washington told reporters at the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, according to PTI.
For the next few months, the wax statues of the five stars will be kept in Washington, following which they will be shifted to New York and other American cities and other parts of the world, according to PTI.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday in Bollywood style with dancers performing on traditional as well as modern Indian dance styles, according to a media release.
The official website of Madam Tussauds said: "Amitabh Bachchan is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema."
"Shah Rukh Khan is one of Bollywood's most renowned actors, having appeared in the highest grossing film eight separate years during his career."
"Aishwarya Rai appeared in the blockbuster action thriller Dhoom 2 (2006) and subsequently featured in other films, thus establishing herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses of Indian cinema."
"Hrithik Roshan is a highly praised actor and has received several best actor awards, and Kareena Kapoor has been noted for her performances in a range of film genres, from contemporary romantic dramas to comedies, period films to major Bollywood productions and less-publicized independent films."
