Nani's "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" (Magadivoy/BBM) has opened to a superb response at the USA box office and has beaten the premiere show and first day records of his previous biggest opener "Eega".
The huge success of "Eega" has made Nani one of the popular Telugu actors in America and Canada. In a bid to cash in on his fame, the makers of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" made grand plans for its release in the country. Leading distributor Cine Galaxy, which acquired BBM's rights for a fancy price, booked around 115 screens for the film in the country.
Cine Galaxy also arranged premiere shows at several locations in the country on Thursday night. "Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" film opened to decent response with its collection reaching $70,132 in the preview show. Having garnered positive response from the viewers, its business grew up considerably on Friday.
"Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" has collected $ 164,459 at the USA box office on the first day, taking its total to $ 234,591 [Rs 1.56 crore]. Indian film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Telugu film #BhaleBhaleMagadivoi takes a SMASHING start in USA. Thu pre $ 70,132, Fri $ 164,459. Total: $ 234,591 [₹ 1.56 cr]. @RentrakIndia"
"Eega" has been the biggest opener and highest grosser movie for actor Nani. Released in 31 screens, the movie has collected $42,409 in paid premieres on Thursday, $156,408 on Friday, $144,260 on Saturday and $195,919 on Sunday. The film has collected $538,996 (nearly Rs 3 crore) at the USA box office in its opening weekend. Its per screen average stood at $17,387.
"Bhale Bhale Magadivoi" has beaten the business records of "Eega" in premiere show and the first day collection. But its per-screen average is not even 50% of that of the SS Rajamouli-directed action extravaganza. Considering the crowd at ticket counters, the movie will also beat the second and third records of "Eega" in the country.
