Sunny Deol starrer Bhaiyyaji Superhit (Bhaiaji Superhit) started its box office run with an average collection on day 1.
The comedy drama features Sunny, Preity Zinta, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. Bhaiyyaji Superhit released this Friday without much hype around it. Although the promotional activities were better in comparison to Sunny's last week release – Mohalla Assi, Bhaiyyaji Superhit could not garner much of an attention.
Despite having a potent star cast, the movie could not register a decent enough box office collection on opening day. With limited number of screens, Bhaiyyaji Superhit collected Rs 1 crore (approximately) at the Indian box office on day 1.
Surprisingly, the film has been praised by some of the critics, which may work in favour of the movie. If the word of mouth gets strong, Bhaiyyaji Superhit may witness some jump in its earning over the weekend.
The fact that Thugs of Hindostan has almost died down at the commercial circuits, will definitely favour the collection of Sunny's film. But, Badhaai Ho is still having a considerable hold at the box office with very minimal screen count.
Nonetheless, Bhaiyyaji Superhit will have just one week to rake in as much moolah as possible because big movie 2.0 is going to be released next Friday, following which, it will be removed from most of the screens.
