With Shilpa Shinde remaining adamant on not returning to the sets of "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!," the makers have finally decided to replace the actress, who played the role of Angoori Bhabi on the show.
According to an Asian Age report, Sheetal Khandal, who played the role of Gehna on "Balika Vadhu," is being considered for the role of Angoori Bhabhi. If the deal between Sheetal and the makers gets sealed, Sheetal will replace Shilpa on the show. Earlier, rumours had it that Rashami Desai and Sucheta Khanna were being considered for the role of Angoori Bhabhi, but producer Binaifer Kohli refuted the reports.
"The CINTAA directive has made it obvious that we cannot work with the actress (Shilpa) even if she decides to have a change of heart. I was hoping things would resolve and she would resume but she has remained adamant. So I am looking for a replacement now, albeit reluctantly.
"Some reports said we are considering several actors including Rashami Desai and Sucheta Khanna for the role but that's not true. The audition is in progress. We have two three names in mind but I can't reveal those. At the moment I can only say that we have auditioned Sheetal. But we haven't locked her yet. We are looking at other options as well," Kohli told the daily.
Earlier this week, Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) had decided to prohibit broadcasters and producers from working with Shilpa until she apologises to the association and compensates Kohli for the loses incurred because of her.
Talking about the ban and her chances of returning on "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!," Shilpa told SpotboyE that she is yet to receive an official order regarding the ban. Shilpa also pointed out that it was she who made the show a success and also believes that the show's ratings is deteriorating ever since she stopped shooting.
"I don't see myself returning to the show. They are trying to replace me but are not able to find anyone suitable. No wonder they keep coming back to me and using pressure tactics to get me back on the set. I think that the show is going down on ratings. I will openly say that I made this show," Shilpa told SpotboyE.
Last month, Shilpa had stopped shooting for "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!" after accusing the production house of mental torture. There were also reports that Shilpa had decided to quit the show to be a part of "The Kapil Sharma Show."
