It is said that no publicity is bad publicity, and celebrity couple - Beyonce and Jay Z – appear to have played with their marriage card to make their "On The Run" tour a success. After months of speculations on their alleged marriage trouble, a report has claimed that the couple could have intentionally resorted to cheap publicity stunt by spreading divorce rumours with an aim to increase the ticket sales of their tour.
According to report by Radar Online, publicist Jonathan, who claims to know Jay Z, told The U.K.'s Sun that the divorce rumours could have been started just to create more hype and increase ticket sales of their "On The Run" tour.
"They are driving interest for the tour," Hay said. "If you look at the timing of these stories, I don't think this is a coincidence."
"So then we had the elevator fight and since then the tour has been written about every single night and ticket sales have increased," he added. He went on to say that the couple will put an end to all the rumours of their split once the tour is over.
Interestingly, neither Beyonce nor husband Jay Z have cared to clarify reports of their alleged divorce except posting family photos on social media, despite speculations going rife weeks before they began their tour. Radar Online had earlier reported that tens of thousands of tickets remained unsold for their tour in the U.S.
Having wrapped up their "On The Run" tour on Wednesday in San Francisco, Beyonce posted a photo of her husband Jay Z carrying Blue Ivy on Instagram as they walked towards the family's private jet as if to tell the world that all is well with the family. The caption of the picture reads: "Thank you San Fran! Your city is beautiful. It was the perfect place to complete the best tour of my life! Thank you to all the fans that supported our show. God bless."
It was earlier reported that the couple was on the verge of parting ways and might file for divorce soon after their tour ends. It was even reported that they were not on talking terms and living separately while they were touring together.
"After they perform they go off separately," Hollywood Life quoted a source as saying. "There's a ton of tension, they're not happy. It's all for the cameras."
It was also reported that the couple is holding on to each other as they are already a huge brand.
"There's face-saving involved - they don't want to be looked at like other celebrities out there," Page Six quoted a source. "They are business people first, entertainers second. Husband and wife comes somewhere down the line."
"There's still something there, even though it's not going to last," the source added. "Business is always part of the equation. They know they're the king and queen of hip-hop - and really, all of music. Neither wants to lose that."
Speculations of Beyonce-Jay Z break up hit headlines after Solange Knowles was caught in a fight with Jay in an elevator in May. Beyonce was in the elevator when the altercation took place but did nothing to prevent her sister from attacking her husband, hinting of trouble in the family.
