Even though social media is a boon to celebrities as it brings them closer to their fans, it also has its share of disadvantages. Often celebrities are scrutinised and trolled for one or the other reason. Most of these trollers hide behind fake identities while pulling the legs of celebs. Even the most powerful Bollywood stars are not spared by these cyber bullies.
The the latest celebrity to become the butt of jokes on Twitter is Salman Khan. Recently, a video of the Tubelight actor went viral where he was spotted chewing a thread from his ripped jeans during the promotions of the film. While it was still trending on social media, Twitterati had a field day again when the actor advised youth on road safety during the launch of his Being Human e-bicycles. (Read: Salman Khan trolled for lecture on road safety; Twitterati say it's like Vijay Mallya advocating timely loan payment)
While many celebs choose to ignore such online trollers, some immediately shut them down on Twitter with a few hard-hitting words. But, Salman has his own way of tackling such haters.
Speaking to the Times of India about the same, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor said that he was shocked to see that some trollers could stoop to such levels thinking they could never be tracked because of their fake identities. But the superstar said that he had already tracked 15 people and was willing to reveal their details but refraining from doing so as he doesn't want to ruin their future.
"If they think they do, then they will be very sadly mistaken, I don't check my Twitter or Instagram, anymore. Earlier, it started as a mere joke I believe and people are now taking it to another level. I am shocked that people can stoop to this level. There was a time when these people used to think that Twitter is an iron curtain behind which these trollers could do anything, I tracked 15 people in 2 days. I will put out the details one day but I refrained because then their parents would be affected and I did not want that to happen," Salman said.
We hope the trollers hiding behind fake identities take this seriously or get ready to face the music someday.
