Vijay Antony's Telugu film Bethaludu received a good opening and made decent collections at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office on the first day of its release.

Bethaludu is the dubbed version of Vijay Antony's Tamil film, Saithan. The huge success of his earlier dubbed movie, Bichagadu, had created a lot of curiosity about his latest outing. Its promos had impressed the Telugu audience and generated a lot of expectations with the movie. The makers had also spent a hefty sum on its publicity to make sure that the film gets a big opening.

Since there were no original Telugu movies to hit theatres this week, Bethaludu was released in around 650 screens across both the Telugu-speaking states on December 1. In a scenario where an original Telugu film starring Sundeep Kishan and Nikhil Siddharth struggles to get 500 theatres, this is a big screen count for a dubbed film.

The Vijay Antony and Arundhati Nair-starrer had a good advance booking and it registered decent occupancy in the morning shows on Thursday. The word-of-mouth publicity boosted its collection in the afternoon and evening shows. As per early estimates, Bethaludu collected Rs 3.5 crore gross at the AP/T box office on the first day. The film is estimated to have made Rs 1.8 crore for its distributors on the opening day.

Here is the area-wise break-up of the earning of Bethaludu for its distributors. These are estimated numbers and may vary from the actual figures released by its makers/distributors.
