In a very unusual incident in Bengaluru, a man who was pulled over by the Chikkaballapura police for not wearing a helmet, confessed to stabbing his friend and even gave up the bloody knife.

The incident took place on MG Road when 26-year-old Sandeep Shetty was stopped for not wearing his helmet. Following this, he handed over a bloody knife to the police and said, "Forgive me, sir. I stabbed my friend just now, and was heading to the police station to surrender," reports Times of India.

Shetty had stabbed his friend Devaraj over money issues. They were partners in a real estate business a couple of years ago. Recently, Shetty had given Devaraj Rs 1 lakh to invest in real estate. TOI reports that Devaraj did not invest the money and also refused to return it.

On Monday, Shetty had gone to Devaraj's residence and asked him about the money. Devaraj then allegedly shouted at Shetty and told him to forget about the money. Shetty, in a fit of rage, stabbed Devaraj in his back and stomach. The neighbours heard Devaraj's screams and ran to help him. Devaraj has been admitted to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

After committing the crime, Shetty fled the scene on his motorbike.
