The bomb blast in Bengaluru's Church Street that killed one woman on Sunday was a terror attack, Karnataka Home Minister KJ George has said.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the attack could be a retaliation for the arrest of ISIS sympathiser Mehdi Masroor Biswas, who was arrested by the Bengaluru police.
The low-intensity blast occurred outside a restaurant in Bengaluru on Sunday evening, injuring three people.
While no one has claimed responsibility for the blast, KJ George told NDTV it was a terror attack.
The blast comes weeks after the arrest of an ISIS sympathiser Mehdi Masroor Biswas, who was arrested by the Bengaluru police for running a pro-Islamic State Twitter account.
Several ISIS supporters across the world had threatened retaliation against the arrest of Biswas.
The blast was aimed at creating 'panic and fear', Benguluru Police Commissioner MN Reddi said.
