At least three officers of the Indian Army lost their lives while one was critically injured when a Cheetah helicopter crashed around 10:30 am in Sukna in Bengal on Wednesday.
The injured was a Junior Commissioned Officer of the Indian Army.
According to the Army, two helicopters had been sent for forward area survey after which one of them came back while the other crashed.
A mechanical failure is suspected to have caused the crashed, the Army was quoted by ANI as saying. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
Sukna is located in the northern part of Bengal (earlier West Bengal).
