Having established in the premium motorcycle segment of India, Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli's Indian arm DSK Benelli is gearing up for a product launching onslaught. Emerging reports claims the company will next launch the Tornado 302 in December which will be followed by TRK 502 adventure tourer in early 2017.
The TRK 502 was unveiled at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan. India launch of the TRK 502 was expected in the festive season but it has postponed to 2017 report NDTV Auto. The dual purpose motorcycle features a twin-cylinder, four-stroke liquid-cooled 499.6cc engine with electronic injection, overhead double camshaft timing system, and 4 valves per cylinder. The mill belts out 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 45Nm torque at 4,500rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox that has hydraulic clutch in place.
The motorcycle comes with large fuel tank which can store 20-litres. The combination of adjustable upside down front fork at front and swingarm with monoshock at rear provides suspension travel of 150mm. The TRK 502 features 230mm of ground clearance and weighs just 210 kg and both are ideal for off-road motorcycling.
The braking power comes from dual disc at front with 320mm diameter and single disc at rear while ABS will be offered as standard. The TRK 502 is shod with Pirelli Angel 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear with alloy wheels.
When launched, the motorcycle will be pitted against the premium adventure motorcycles such as the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Ducati Scrambler range. The TRK 502's price is expected to start at Rs 6 lakh.
