Benedict Cumberbatch, the "Sherlock" actor, and his fiancee Sophie Hunter are indeed expecting their first child together.
The British actor's representative confirmed that the couple is expecting a baby and both are thrilled.
"They are both over the moon," Cumberbatch's representative said.
News of the pregnancy comes just two months after Cumberbatch and Hunter announced their engagement in typical old-school way, declaring it in the marriage section of The Times newspaper.
The 38-year-old "Imitation Game" actor previously said that marriage wasn't on his priority list yet.
"One thing at a time. I'm playing Sherlock now, just about to start, so my main focus is going to be that," Cumberbatch told Pop Sugar at the red carpet of the palm Springs International Film Festival.
However a source close to the couple told Page Six previously:
"Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring."
News of the pregnancy also sent fans into a frenzy on social media. One of the posts cleverly pointed out a timeline comparing the baby's arrival and age to the airing of "Sherlock"
"Sad Truth: Cumberbaby will come out before Sherlock Special.
Sadder Truth: Cumberbaby will turn 1 yrs old even before series 4 airs.
Saddest Truth: Cumberbaby will graduate college before series 5 airs."
