The Bachelor stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have already started planning for their big day, and to make sure their relationship withstands the hurdles that come with a long-term commitment, they have sought the help of a professional counsellor.
Higgins proposed to Bushnell in the Season 20 finale of The Bachelor, and for the past few months they have been busy with their reality show Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After. Is the marriage counselling a part of the show? "In terms of going to counselling I think that has nothing to do with the show," the couple revealed to HollywoodLife. "It is more so for us to set a really strong foundation before we start planning a date for the wedding."
The couple revealed that they too have arguments, and something that is sure to come up during their fights is that Higgins was dating multiple women when he professed his love for Bushnell. But they seem to be committed to making their relationship work. Higgins and Bushnell have been engaged for about 10 months and the couple has been living together for the past six months.
"Before we walk down the aisle, we really want to make sure that we have a third party that can help us work through some of our issues and how to be better in communication," they said. "It has really been great for us and I am sure we will continue to do it even after we are married!"
Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After will premiere on October 11 on Freeform.
