"Batman V Superman" actor Ben Affleck has reportedly apologised for cheating on his wife Jennifer Garner with Christine Ouzounian, the nanny of their children.
According to a Radar Online insider, Affleck took responsibility for the relationship during the couple's recent marriage counselling session, and added that he never wanted the relationship to become romantic. Although Affleck's relationship with the nanny started after his split from Garner, the actress was reportedly humiliated when the relationship grabbed media headlines.
"Christine often complained to Ben that Jen was being overly critical of her work with their three kids. Jen had felt that she was being unfairly attacked by Ben, and couldn't understand why at the time. They were trying to co-parent their kids but Ben was just being a real bear to deal with. Now she realizes what was really going on," the source added.
The confession is a step forward in their relationship, but reconciliation is reportedly not in the future. Their primary focus is the well-being of their three children -- Violet (7), Seraphina (4) and Samuel (20 months).
Affleck is also said to be avoiding the former nanny, and as a first step he has reportedly changed his cell phone number. According to a different Radar Online source, Ouzounian has been hoping for a relationship with the actor, but Affleck regrets ever getting involved.
"Christine had been calling Ben's cell phone a lot after he came back to Los Angeles," said the source. "But Ben made it obvious to Christine that he had no interest in a relationship."
"She wasn't taking the hint, so after the calls continued, Ben changed his cell phone number to get Christine off his back," the source continued. "Ben can't believe how stupid he had been to ever get linked to her. She looks like such an opportunist."
Ouzounian, in the meantime, is said to be looking for an agent who will help her get into showbiz. She is said to be eyeing the next season of ABC's "The Bachelorette" or "Dancing with the Stars".
