After much hype and wait, Yash Raj Films has finally revealed the lead actor of its next flick "Befikre", which is directed by Aditya Chopra. The role of the male lead has been bagged by actor Ranveer Singh.
The makers of the film revealed the actor's name by sharing a video online, which features Ranveer.
In the video clip, the actor is seen inside Yash Raj's studio and talks about how he started his journey from that very place. His debut film "Band Baaja Baaraat" was also made under YRF banner.
In the video, Ranveer talks about how about seven years ago he was in tears when he was cast for his debut flick. When Aditya saw him getting teary eyed he said: "Tu kar lega" (you will do it).
He further said that he has been waiting to work with Aditya again and fortunately, has been roped in for his next project "Befikre".
He also revealed that he was so happy to sign "Befikre" that he got emotional once again and Aditya once again told him: "Tu kar lega".
Meanwhile, Aditya's way of announcing his next film as well as the lead actor is quite interesting.
The filmmaker announced his next project on his father and late director Yash Chopra's 83rd birthday (27 September). Yash Raj Films took to Twitter to share a letter, which could-have-been the father and son's conversation.
In the letter, Aditya talks at length about the process that led him to think he could finally direct a film. "It's just very different to any of the films I have directed so far. Till now, all the films I have directed or written have been intense, dramatic and emotional. This one is just a light-hearted romance, nothing more," says the filmmaker.
While the lead actress is yet to be named, speculations are being made that it could be Anushka Sharma. If it is her, then this will be Ranveer and Anushka's fourth film together after "Band Baaja Baaraat", "Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl" and "Dil Dhadakne Do."
