Ranveer Singh and Sushant Singh Rajput have never been thick friends, but they did share a healthy professional rapport. Unfortunately, the equation has gone sour because of an important film the M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story star had to let go.
Apparently, director Aditya Chopra had promised Rajput Befikre but it went to Singh. A source told Zoom TV that the rivalry has thickened over time.
"Everyone knows that Sushant left YRF because Adi had promised him Befikre, but later gave it to Ranveer. The rivalry between the two actors has continued since then. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela was also initially offered to Sushant, but since the actor didn't have dates, he had to turn it down," the insider added.
Another source revealed that they have really become bitter after Chopra gave away Befikre to Singh. The stars are hardly friendly and the cold vibe between them is apparently unmistakable. "Both are barely friendly to each other, the awkward energy is visible when both bump into each other, they don't party together and on social media, too, they don't acknowledge each other's releases," the insider added.
At a recently-concluded award show, Rajput even cheekily said that Singh spoils most of his interviews.
What are Rajput and Singh upto in their respective careers?
Singh is busy with Befikre promotions and accompanying him is Vaani Kapoor. He has begun Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati alongside Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. Meanwhile, Rajput has wrapped up Homi Adjania's Raabta, which also stars Kriti Sanon.
