India celebrated its 66th Republic Day on Monday, 26 January, and the four days long celebrations came to an end on Thursday, with some incredible performances held during the "Beating Retreat" Ceremony at Vijay Chowk, New Delhi.

The three wings of the Indian military - Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force - performed during the event in New Delhi.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and others attended the one-hour-long ceremony.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence announced the winners of Republic Day Parade 2015.

Among the tableaux category, out of total 25 tableau, the first position was nabbed by Maharashtra, followed by Jharkhand's and Karnataka's Tableau.

While Brigade of Guards Regiment and Sikh Regiment were jointly declared as the winners of the best marching contingents among the Services category, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was selected as the best contingent in the Paramilitary Forces and other auxiliary marching category.

The winners will be presented with the awards in a separate event, which will be organised by the Defence Ministry.
