Axed BBC Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has reportedly bought a brand new McLaren 675LT sports car, which is priced at 2,59,000 British pounds (Rs 2.6 crore).
Clarkson was spotted in his London house taking delivery of the British super-car, according to The Daily Mail. He was photographed relaxing with a glass of wine while waiting for his new acquisition.
The bright orange Mclaren 675 LT bought by Clarkson is powered by a 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo V8 engine with 666bhp of power and 700Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed Seamless Shift dual clutch Gearbox (SSG). The sports car runs from 0 to 100kmph in 2.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 330kmph.
The report does not write off the possibility of the new McLaren being bought for review purpose for his new show on Amazon, which will be co-hosted by former Top Gear presenters, Richard Hammond and James May.
Meanwhile, a new Mirror report claims that Clarkson will be earning 10 million British pounds a year for his new show on Amazon. This will make the former Top Gear lead host Britain's highest-paid TV host. His colleagues, May and Hammond will reportedly be paid 7.2 million British pounds a year each.
The first episode of the new series is expected to be aired sometime next year.
