A week before the US release, the makers of R-Rated comedy Baywatch revealed a 24-second clip focusing on the wealthy and ambitious entrepreneur Victoria Leeds, played by Priyanka Chopra. The new clip finally showed the villainous and funny Victoria Leeds everyone was waiting to see.
The footage begins with Victoria Leeds arriving at the beach to invite the lifeguards Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson), Matt Brody (Zac Efron) and others to Huntley Club party. While talking to the lifeguards, she steps on a stool wearing pink stilettos and pink dress.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but everyone on the beach is talking about you guys. Well, I just wanted to invite you all to the Huntley, but I know the club's kinda 'fancy' and probably not your scene, but you have a standing invitation," she said.
Her invitation gets a vague response from the lifeguards, including Matt Brody. Then, she trips over and falls into the arms of Mitch, who says, "Easy, you okay?"
The R-Rated comedy-drama, helmed by Seth Gordon, features Dwayne, Priyanka, Zac, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera and Jon Bass. The film is slated to release in the US on May 25 and it will release in India on June 2.
While the film will have a smooth release in the US, it might face some trouble in India over its content. According to reports, the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) in India are having trouble reviewing the R-Rated Baywatch.
"It is a duvidha, a dharm sankat that beats all recent dilemmas. How do we grade the bikini festival in Baywatch? Guidelines clearly indicate that unnecessary nudity must be curbed. A lot of the Baywatch fans are under-age kids. In our films, a big deal is made of bikini shots. Blame the producers for making the bikini look like a phenomenal happening," a source close to the censor board told DNA.
"We can't curb nudity when it is projected on the beachside. We would object if girls in bikinis were shown in a discotheque or in a dining room. But how do we curtail the skin exposure when the entire film is by the beachside?" the source added.
