A Johns Hopkins University researcher noticed the bats he works with cocked their heads to the side, just like his pet dog. Using high-tech recording devices, Melville Wohlgemuth determined that the head waggles sync with the animal’s sonar to help it hunt. In the words of one of his colleagues the bats kill them with cuteness.
