"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the much-anticipated superhero film. And reports suggest that many are excited to watch it because of Batman, portrayed by Ben Affleck.
Well, Ben's long-time best friend Matt Damon, in his recent interview, said that he too is eagerly waiting for the DC film to hit theatres, even as also revealed Ben's apprehensions and the reason that prompted him play Batman.
In his interview with MTV, Damon said that Ben Affleck decided to play the lead in "Batman v Superman" only after his Oscar-winning "Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio was brought on board to rewrite the script.
"I talked to him about it. It was a big decision. He knew what the stakes were. Once he was able to get Chris Terrio to write the script, I think that made the decision for him," Damon recalled.
He continued, "Chris is a fantastic writer and Ben really liked Zack [Snyder], who's directing, and it was like, 'well, I've got all the pieces that are necessary.'"
Before Terrio, the script of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was being handled by David S Goyer, who has written "Man of Steel", "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight", and "The Dark Knight Rises". But Goyer's name hasn't been heard since Terrio came on board.
Damon, who won an Oscar along with Affleck for co-writing "Good Will Hunting", further revealed interesting details on what it took for Ben to look like Batman, after he sealed the deal.
"He put on like 30 pounds, which took him like nine months. He put on like 30 pounds of muscle, which is really not easy to do. You've gotta eat a lot. You've gotta be an omnivore. Or just greedy," Damon said.
And guess what, Matt Damon said, "I haven't heard the Batman voice yet!" Well, it looks like Ben's BFF is on the same boat as we are in.
Now we have to wait and watch how Ben Affleck pulls off the Batman character after so many efforts.
