The Dark Knight might have to fight a new enemy, known popularly as Mr. Freeze aka Dr. Victor Fries, in Batman Arkham Origins. The game's developers hinted at the likelihood of Mr. Freeze entering Gotham City on their Facebook page.
The post read: "All-new STORY DLC coming in 2014! More details to come..." and carried an image of the "Wayne Foundation Humanitarian of the Year" award, with ice shards in the background.
Mr. Freeze is one of Batman's arch-enemies and was last seen in Batman: Arkham City, where he had put his wife Nora into cryogen as a remedy for her illness.
IGN reports that the image in the "Wayne Foundation Humanitarian of the Year" award, where a woman is shown holding a heart-shaped diamond, could very well be Dr. Fries' wife Nora. It predicts the downloadable content (DLC) will be tracing the origins of Mr. Freeze and his hostility towards Batman.
Warner Bros, had earlier teased that they will be making a special announcement on 31 December, promised more details in the coming week.
Mr. Freeze has some special powers like slow aging, immunity to most toxins and his suit gives him superhuman strength and durability.
Dr. Fries is also a polymath, a multi-lingual, a gifted mechanic, an expert in cryogenics, genetics and chemistry.
His main weapon is the Freeze Gun that can freeze anyone within its reach. The character of Mr. Freeze has been part of Batman TV shows and movies.
