As soon as Kurt Sutter wrapped up the FX biker drama series, "Sons of Anarchy", he began working on "The Bastard Executioner", a fictional period drama series set during the Welsh rebellion. The filming for the show began in Wales on 9 March; and as of Thursday, 23 April, the production of the pilot episode for the show has been completed.
Sutter thanked his production team and cast for their cooperation during the shoot. He wrote on Instagram , "We have wrapped. Thank you to my extraordinary production team and my brilliant cast. I measure my creative experiences by surprises. If the good outweigh the bad, I'm satisfied. But if the good make you forget the bad, I'm fulfilled."
"The Bastard Executioner" depicts the story of a warrior knight who is suffering from PTSD after taking part in many wars. Although he vows to never raise a weapon to hurt another human, violence finds its way back to him when he is forced to pick the executioner's sword.
Although the lead character of Wilkin Brattle is played by a relatively unfamiliar Australian actor Lee Jones, many familiar faces like Stephen Moyer and Brían F. O'Byrne will be seen in the medieval drama. Moreover, Katey Sagal - who played Gemma Morrow - and Timothy V Murphy - who played in Galen in "Sons of Anarchy" - will also be seen in "The Bastard Executioner".

The fantastic @ObyrneBrian."
