There are a bunch of TV actors who have forayed into the silver screen, but only some managed to make it big. Barun Sobti aka Arnav Singh Raizada of "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon" made his Bollywood debut with "Main Aur Mr. Right". Although the film tanked at the box office and didn't establish him as a mainstream star, the actor's fans think differently.
According to a poll conducted by IBTimes India, Barun won the title of the "Hottest TV actor on Big Screen" against big names such as Fawad Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Karan Singh Grover and Rajeev Khandelwal.
The charming actor finished first with 40.92% votes, whereas the "Khoobsurat" actor came a close second with 36.14%. Karan Singh Grover, Rajeev Khandelwal, Sushant Singh Rajput and Gurmeet Chaudhary followed with 11.62%, 9.26%, 1.32% and 0.74% votes, respectively.
Talking to Miss Malini, two years ago, Barun had opened up about his film "22 Yards". Essaying the role of cricket agent Ronojit Sen, the film has him sporting a unique avatar.
"We've been working quite a lot on the film, because originally it was written in English. So to translate it into Hindi with the same kind of weight and effect becomes a little difficult. So we spent a lot of time translating into... not completely Hindi, that didn't happen, but Hinglish. That took a lot of time, but I think we've done a fair job and we pretty much have exactly the script we're going to use in the film," he said, MM reports.
The actor further said he takes life as it comes, adding that he is never conscious of the production house or the cast. He believes in concentrating on his own character and the script.
