One of the most famous scenes from Basic Instinct, a 1992 erotic thriller film directed by Paul Verhoeven, is that of Sharon Stone crossing her legs. This scene was recreated by Sports Illustrated model Barbara Palvin for LOVE Advent clip, where she ditched her underwear and left nothing to the imagination.
The clip is directed by Phil Poynter and it is entitled LOVE Basic Instinct.
The 23-year-old model is clad in a white crepe dress and black lace up heels, and she has a striking resemblance to Stone's character from the movie. In the clip, Palvin is seen puffing on a cigarette as she sits in the interrogation room reciting lines from the classic film about sex and drugs. Towards the end of the clip, she uncrosses her legs to reveal that she has gone underwear-free.
Palvin's clip has generated a lot of interest and it is set to become as iconic as Stone's scene, which the actress revealed in an interview was filmed without her consent. She told the Daily Express: "In those days... it's not like now where everything is high definition, and when I looked at the monitor you really couldn't see anything.
"So when I saw it in the theatre, with a bunch of other people, I was like (in shock).
However, she reasoned: "It's so right for the movie and so right for the character but if I would have gotten that (perfect shot), even by accident, I would have had the courtesy to show it to my actor. But, I would have kept it in the movie."
Palvin isn't the only model appearing in the The Love advent clip. Irina Shayk, who's expecting her first child with Bradley Cooper, did a scene from Ghost, while Ireland Baldwin did a tribute to Madonna's Cherish. Stella Maxwell tried her hand at recreating a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street.
