As the several spoilers surfacing online have stated, it seems that "Banshee" Season 4 will have an emotionally darker plot-line than the previous seasons.
Business 2 Community has reported that the reason behind such an emotional storyline is that the upcoming season will focus on Lucas Hood's attempts to patch up with his former girlfriend, Carrie Hopewell.
However, Lucas' nightmare is far from over as a mob gangster with whom he had a bad past is hunting him down.
Collider has mentioned that the teaser of Season 4 hints at a romantic involvement between Carrie and Lucas in the upcoming season. In another part of the teaser, it is shown that Lucas is standing in front of a burning house that might hint towards end of his journey.
According to TV Line, Season 4 of "Banshee" will have at least eight episodes.
In the new season, Lucas will be in some serious trouble as he is consumed by the misery of his past and is also going through a serious drinking problem. With no one at his side, Lucas is finding it hard to cope up with the situation and go back to his normal self.
Jonathan Trooper, creator of the series, revealed plans for a fifth season and why the idea was dropped afterwards.
"While we certainly considered returning for a fifth season, I always said that when the story was told, it would be time to move on and that time has come," Trooper said as reported by Hitfix.
"I am grateful to Cinemax for making Banshee the great success it has been and for supporting our creative decision to wrap things up."
Antony Starr will portray the character of Lucas Hood while Ivana Milicevic will play Carrie's role.
New characters introduced in Season 4 will be Ana Ayora as Officer Nina Cruz, Eliza Dushku as Veronica Dawson and Casey Labow as Maggie.
"Banshee" Season 4 is all set to premiere on Cinemax on 1 April, 2016.
