A Bengaluru traffic police was recently caught on camera brutally attacking ex-serviceman Nagappa, who removed a barrier to make way for an ambulance stuck in traffic.
The incident took place near Cauvery Junction at Sadashivanagar.
In the viral video, posted by NewsS9, the 'good samaritan' is seen removing a rope that acted as a barrier for the ambulance, which carried blood units to Navachetan hospital in Yelahanka.
Soon after the ambulance left the spot, Sub-Inspector Gaganna questioned and attacked the ex-serviceman for removing the rope.
Following the incident, the traffic cop was reportedly suspended on Tuesday.
"The person who has removed the rope and allowed the ambulance to pass has done a good thing, we do appreciate it," Additional Commissioner of Traffic B Dayanand said, according to NDTV.
The video has gone viral on social media and has been viewed by than 1,100,543 users at the time of reporting.
