The box office collection of action thriller film "Bang Bang" dropped on third day, but it managed to fare well.
On its third day, the film minted approximately ₹20.1 crore, taking its total to more than ₹71.72 crore. The third day collection dropped by 20% compared to first day due to partial holiday across the country.
"#BangBangMovie update-crosses ₹70 cr in 3 days.Collects ₹20.1 cr on Sat.All set fr a huge Sunday.Spread the cheer - RT @iHrithik #KatrinaKaif," Fox Star Hindi tweeted.
With this, the film has surpassed the lifetime figure of Saif Ali Khan's movie "Humshakals", which earned approximately ₹63.72 crore. Also, "Bang Bang" has become the 10th highest grosser film of 2014.
The opening weekend total is less than that of Salman Khan's "Kick" and Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns", but compared to "Jai Ho", the earnings are much better.
Siddharth Anand's directorial film also features Katrina Kaif in the lead role. The film has power-packed action scenes and is termed as complete mass entertainer and that is one of the reasons why the film is performing well in single screens as well as multiplexes.
While, the collection dropped on second and third day it remains to be seen how it will perform on Sunday, the fourth day. The film was expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark by fourth day. But considering the three days collection, the film will have to rake in more than ₹30 crore on Sunday to enter the ₹100 crore club within four days.
Meanwhile, from overseas market the film has earned ₹4.62 crore in two days. Theatres in the UK contributed a major chunk of share in the overseas collection followed by the North America circuits.
From the UK the film minted ₹1.75 crore in two days, while from the US-Canada it accumulated ₹1.63 crore (opening day), Australia's contribution is ₹51 lakh, New Zealand is ₹27 lakh and Pakistan is ₹46 lakh.
