Director Pankaj Batra's Punjabi film "Bambukat" has continued its dream run at the overseas box office in the second week and taken its collection closer to the $1 million mark in 10 days.
"Bambukat" was released in over 65 screens in key international markets on July 29 and got a good opening in five international markets. The movie collected approximately $601,488 in the first weekend and $419,234 on weekdays. The film raked in a total of $1,020,722 at the overseas box office in the first week. It has become one of the biggest Punjabi money spinners of the year 2016.
Since there was no big-ticket release from Punjabi or Hindi film industries, "Bambukat" was expected to fare well at the ticket counters in the second week too. The movie managed to retain most of cinema halls that it was holding in the first week, but witnessed around 50 percent drop in its second weekend, when compared to its business in the opening weekend.
Nevertheless, the Ammy Virk and Binnu Dhillon-starrer has fared better than other Indian movies in some international markets and topped the weekend business for Indian films in foreign countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Bambukat has collected approximately $304,278 at the overseas box office in its second weekend. Here are its area-wise collection figures.

"Bambukat" has collected a total of $1,325,000 at the international box office in 10 days. The movie has inched closer to the $1.50 million mark. If it surpasses this mark in its life time, it would be the fifth Punjabi film to achieve this feat in 2016.
