Indian television actor Sidharth Shukla, who starred in Balika Vadhu, has reportedly been arrested on Saturday for being involved in a car crash in Mumbai's Oshiwara area near Andheri west.
The incident happened around 6 pm. The actor was reportedly driving his BMW X5 car and lost control, ramming into three cars on the road and then hitting a divider. Siddharth was booked by the cops and then taken to a hospital in Goregaon, Mumbai for medical examination. Three more persons have been reported injured in the car accident.
It was the Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizen's Association that first tweeted the news and it soon went viral on Whatsapp and Twitter. The association said on Twitter, "Major accident at Shreeji restaurant junction Oshiwara Andheri west. Kindly avoid link road from adarsh Nagar junction."
The police has registered a case under IPC sections 279 (rash driving), 336 (endangering life or safety of others) and relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act against the actor.
Siddharth Shukla is a TV actor, seen in many TV shows apart from Balika Vadhu and also realit shows. The beefy actor has also been seen in Bollywood films.
Police are investigating the case further and more details of the accident are awaited.
