SS Rajamouli's movie, "Baahubali – The Beginning" (Bahubali), is on a record-breaking spree both at the domestic and the overseas box office, but its collections might slow down despite Eid ul-Fitr weekend, as Salman Khan's much-hyped movie, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", is releasing worldwide on Friday.
Featuring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles and directed by Kabir Khan, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is releasing in over 5,000 theatres across 50 countries. It will be released in 4,500 screens in India and over 800 screens overseas, and this could affect the business of "Baahubali".
"Baahubali" collected over Rs 250 crore in seven days (worldwide box office collections). It earned Rs 29.57 crore from overseas in its first weekend with collections from the US standing at a whopping Rs 27.42 ($4,474,214), Rs 32.46 lakh (£32,886) from the UK, Rs 65.54 lakh ($103,187) from Canada and Rs 16.91 lakh (A$35,849) from Australia, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. He went on to say that the movie is still going strong at the box office.
#Baahubali [Telugu] is REMARKABLE in USA. Record-breaking spree: Mon $ 201,176, Tue $ 173,763. Total: $ 4,668,442 [₹ 29.64 cr] @RentrakIndia

However, one thing that is apparent is the decline in the collection after the initial rush, which is but natural. However, the makers of the film might be looking forward to raking in more revenue in the Eid al-Fitr weekend. Unfortunately, Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" could play spoilsport for the Prabhas starrer as it is releasing in about 450 theatres in the US, UK, UAE and Australia.
There are possibilities of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" displacing "Baahubali" at the box office, both domestic and overseas as Salman Khan has a good track record as far as his Eid releases are concerned. If the stupendous success of "Wanted", "Dabangg", "Bodyguard", "Ek Tha Tiger", and "Kick" is any indication, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" should rock at the box office.
