Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has begun shattering the box office records with its opening day box office collection. And the first film which "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" managed to beat is none other than Salman's highest grosser "Kick".
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" shattered the records of "Kick" in the Gulf Region, but it again failed to break the records of "Baahubali - the Beginning" (Bahubali) at the US-Canada box office.
Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has surpassed his last Eid release "Kick" opening day box office total. From the UAE-GCC market, the film collected AED 1.1 million (Rs1.90 crore), which is higher than "Kick" total, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
"#BajrangiBhaijaan takes UAE-GCC by storm. Collects AED 1.1 mn [₹ 1.90 cr] on Thu. Surpasses #Kick. Will get a big boost from today. FAB," he tweeted.
The film has taken a good start in other countries as well, including the UK, Australia, Fiji and New Zealand. Reports suggest that "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has created history at the Australian, Fiji and New Zealand box offices.
In just one day, the film minted F$ 15,000 (Rs 4.45 lakh) from Fiji, A$ 125,000 (Rs 58.15 lakh) from Australia and NZ$ 55,000 (Rs 22.76 lakh) from New Zealand
"##BajrangiBhaijaan is creating HISTORY in international markets: Fiji Thu F$ 15k... Australia Fri A$ 125k... New Zealand Fri NZ$ 55k," Adarsh tweeted.
Interestingly, at the UK-Ireland box office the film has achieved a rare feat by grossing more than UK £180,000 (Rs 1.79 crore) on its opening day. The first day UK-Ireland box office collection of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has shattered the records of "Baahubali".
"Baahubali" earned £ 32,063 (RS 31.55 lakh) from the UK-Ireland box office in its opening weekend.
However, Salman's film failed to break "Baahubali" record at the US-Canada box offices. The first day business of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is approximately $700,000 (Rs 4.44 crore), while "Baahubali" had minted $ 1,294,451 (Rs 8.20 crore).
Since Kabir Khan's directorial film was a pre-Eid release, the ticket sales got slightly affected due to Ramzan (Ramadan) festivities worldwide.
Trade analysts expect the box office income to pick up during the weekend at worldwide centers due to Eid holidays.
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles, apart from Salman. The film was released in 700 screens overseas on 17 July.
