'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' 9 Days Box-Office Collection: Salman Starrer Surpasses ₹200 Crore Mark, Beats 'Happy New Year', '3 Idiots' Lifetime Earnings

Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has become the first Bollywood film of 2015 to cross ₹200 crore with its net collection at the domestic box office.

"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" took just nine days to earn ₹200 crore from its domestic box office run. It is the third fastest film after "PK" and "Dhoom 3" to earn ₹200 crore in just nine days.

The film witnessed a massive jump on second Saturday at the domestic box office and minted ₹20.05 crore. After adding second Friday and Saturday's box-office collection, the total of the film stands at ₹217.82 crore.  

"#BajrangiBhaijaan continues to take GIANT strides. Witnesses MASSIVE jump on Sat. Week 2: Fri 13.15 cr, Sat 20.05 cr. Total: ₹ 217.82 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted

"And #BajrangiBhaijaan crosses ₹ 200 cr nett [India biz]... Second Salman starrer to cross ₹ 200 cr... All set to cross #Kick lifetime biz," Adarsh added.

"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has become Salman and Kareena Kapoor Khan's second film to earn more than ₹200 crore, while director Kabir Khan is the new entry in the double century club.

Interestingly, last year on 25 July, Salman's "Kick" was released and on the same day in 2015 his "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" entered the ₹200 crore club.

Salman's film has shattered the records of "Ek Tha Tiger" (directed by Kabir and featured Salman in the lead role), Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" and Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" record and has become the sixth highest grosser Bollywood film.

After beating "Happy New Year" and "3 Idiots" records, Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is now close to beat the lifetime box-office collection record of "Kick" and "Chennai Express". "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will become fourth highest grosser Bollywood film of all time by its second weekend.

Meanwhile, Aamir leads the top ₹200 crore grosser Bollywood films list with three movies, followed by Shah Rukh and Salman with two movies, respectively. Hrithik Roshan has only one movie in the list.

Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are the only two actresses, who made it to the list twice, while Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Jacqueline Fernandez have made it to the list once.
