Kabir Khan's directorial "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is now Salman Khan's highest grossing film. The second weekend box office collection of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has taken its overall income to Rs 240.72 crore, which is the highest for Salman's film.
Last year, Salman's "Kick" had minted Rs 231.85 crore from its box office run, but his year Salman's film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has taken the box office collection to another level by beating his previous film's record.
Salman's film has simultaneously shattered the record of Shah Rukh Khan's highest grosser "Chennai Express".
"#BajrangiBhaijaan is now the HIGHEST grosser of Salman Khan, overtaking his previous highest #Kick. Now eyeing ₹ 300 cr... India biz," box office analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#BajrangiBhaijaan continues its DREAM RUN. Week 2: Fri 12.80 cr, Sat 19.25 cr, Sun 24.05 cr. Total: ₹ 240.72 cr. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER," he added.
The film recorded Rs 56.1 crore net income in its second weekend, which is highest for this year. On second Friday, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" minted Rs 12.80 crore, on Saturday it witnessed 33% jump in the business and on Sunday it showed another 19% jump.
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is now the fourth highest grossing Bollywood film of all times and is now eyeing to break the record of Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3".
"Krrish 3" lifetime box office collection is Rs 244.92 crore and to beat that movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" requires only Rs 4 crore. With its second Monday's collection, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is expected to become the third highest grosser of all time.
Meanwhile, Salman's film is also eyeing for Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office with the net income. If it continues its run with same pace, then "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will collect Rs 300 crore by fourth weekend.
