Salman Khan starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" showed 66% jump in its collection at the domestic box office on third Saturday.
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" box-office collection declined as it entered third week, but on third Saturday the earnings went up by more than 60% compared to third Friday. Salman starrer earned Rs 6.80 crore on third Saturday, taking its 16-day net box-office collection to Rs 283.16 crore mark.
"#BajrangiBhaijaan [Week 3] Fri 4.11 cr, Sat 6.80 cr. Total: ₹ 283.16 cr. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER," box office analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Kabir Khan's directorial "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" was expected to become the second highest Bollywood grosser after beating "Dhoom 3" record by third Saturday. However, the film failed to beat the record with a small margin.
Nevertheless, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will become the second highest grosser of all time on its 17th day.
The film is also approaching towards Rs 300 crore mark in India. The gross box-office collection of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" crossed Rs 300 crore mark long back and now the film is set to take its net earnings to triple century club.
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will become the second Bollywood film of all time to earn Rs 300 crore after Aamir Khan's "PK".
Meanwhile, the collection of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will drop in the coming days due to new releases. This week the collection dropped drastically after the release of Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer "Drishyam", but "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" manage to attract viewers during third weekend.
In other news, Salman's "Maine Pyar Kiya" leading lady Bhagyashree complimented the actor for his new avatar.
"I really liked the film. I even told Salman that he came across in a completely new avatar. And it's a different kind of emotional connect that he's got with the audience this time around," Bhagyashree told IANS.
